Signing electronic documents is made a lot easier with DocHub thanks to our simple-to-use website where anyone can sign, initial, and fill out legal documents and get to choose from several styles of e-signatures including the option to upload an image of your handwritten signature on paper so that it appears the same as your legal signature. You can also quickly draw your signature in DocHub and on your smartphone or choose from several fancy fonts which resemble hand drawn signatures. DocHub supports a variety of filetypes in addition to PDF, so it will work with just about any documents that you need to sign or initial. It's also entirely free to sign a document in DocHub.

To create an e-signature, click on the Sign Menu on the right side of the Tool Bar above an open document and choose Create Signature (as shown above). You'll see 4 tabs, one for each style and signature type listed below. Creating a signature will also save it to your DocHub account unless you are just completing a Sign Request at a private URL and haven't created a DocHub account. You can also create and manage e-signatures and initials in your Signature Settings.
- Phone - send an SMS text message to a smart phone with a link to draw a signature on its touchscreen without needing to login to DocHub. You'll also have the option to draw and save your Initials. To send one, just enter your phone number or your client's number and choose your country from the drop-down menu next to it (if not the USA) for the formatting and click Send.
- Draw - use your mouse, finger, or stylus to draw an e-signature.
- Upload Image - upload a photo file of your handwritten signature or initials.
- Type - choose from several fancy fonts that resemble a handwritten signature or S-Signatures that have your full name within forward slashes which are widely accepted as legally binding e-signatures (e.g. /s/John Hancock/).
DocHub saves your signatures and initials to your account and makes them easily accessible in the Sign menu of the Tool Bar so you can sign PDFs or initial them very quickly and easily without needing to recreate your signature for every new document that you need to sign. You can easily remove any of your signatures or initials from the Sign menu and delete them from your DocHub account by clicking on Manage Signatures near the top of the Sign menu or go to https://dochub.com/settings/signatures and hover your cursor over the one you want to delete and click on the trash can icon to the right of it and confirm the action by choosing Delete. The Sign menu also has a choice for today's date which is automatically set so that you can drag/drop it onto your document and apply a date stamp that's always accurate.
If you see a field for when completing a Sign Request or when filling a copy of a template, click on that field to add your signature instead of using the Sign menu. Clicking on a Sign Here field will open a dialog for you to choose a signature, or if you don't have any saved signatures in DocHub, you'll be asked to create one using any of the 4 options above. You won't see a Tool Bar on a Sign Request document unless the sender enabled an option to allow you to also annotate.
If you need to request an e-signature from one or more signers, DocHub offers an extremely easy way to do so which we call a Sign Request. Once a Sign Request is setup and sent, DocHub sends the signer(s) an email notification with instructions on how to access the document at a private and secure DocHub URL.
