Is there a way to position the signature behind the existing text, i.e. as a background image so the white background of the signature does not block the existing text? My imported-image signatures look terrible because they are always well above the signature line so as not to "white out" the line and typed name below.

We plan to add a tool to DocHub to remove any color background of a signature image and make it transparent though I don’t have an ETA on when it might be added, so in the meantime, you need to have a signature image file that already has a transparent background before uploading it to DocHub. The good news is that there are several free online apps to do this for you. Just Google terms such as “Convert Image To Transparent Background Online”, or you could use the free website tool at the link below which I’ve read some good reviews about:
